This season is definitely Kimi Antonelli's season. He has made and broken history so far in the first few races. Since claiming his maiden victory at the Chinese GP in his second season in the car back in March, he has continued to prove the doubters wrong. That he deserved the Mercedes seat at such a young age, and living up to the legacy and expectations left by Lewis Hamilton, he has since gone on an extraordinary winning streak that has placed him among the sport’s greatest champions. 

Monaco Grand Prix, while rich in motorsport history, is traditionally known as the least dramatic and most predictable race in the calendar. Where qualification is more important than the race itself. If you can qualify well, you're likely to stay in a good position. 

Move over, FIFA, the FIA might take the crown for the most corrupt sporting association. FIA President Mohammad Ben Sulayem wants to repeal the laws that impose term limits on the position.

This season, F1 switched things up in hopes of being more environmentally conscious. They decided, as part of their new regulatory changes, to switch the power units to a 50/50 split. Still, they have decided to go full 360 on this and revert to a 60-40 split in favour of the internal combustion engine, reducing the dominance of electric power.

For 76 years, the world has been mesmerised by F1, its need for speed, the on-the-edge moments, the jeopardy. 1950 for the first official world championship race, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, which is why it is known as the home of motorsports. Over the seven-plus decades, we have seen the sport evolve and change, and, for the most part, for the better, with a high emphasis on safety and diversity. While the sport is a long way from being diverse, especially among drivers off the track, it has come a long way. But there have only been 14 women on an F1 podium in the 3,459 individual constructors' podiums in history.

After a month-long impromptu hiatus due to the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian GPs because of the ongoing US-Israel war on Iran, the break is finally over for one race weekend in Miami. Then another long three-week game to Montreal; it doesn't feel like the F1 season has really started.

While F1 has been on its month-long impromptu hiatus, the drama has not stopped. Formula 1 drivers, both current and former, are believed to be caught up in a widening clampdown by Italian tax authorities. The Italian authorities are reportedly seeking to collect unpaid taxes related to the Grand Prix, which was retroactively held on Italian soil. 

After considerable outrage from drivers and fans alike, F1 will introduce mid-season engine rules for the new power unit introduced for the current campaign.

Doriane Pin, the reigning F1 Academy champion and Mercedes development driver, became the first woman ever to drive a Silver Arrow; she made her F1 debut in a Silver Arrow at Silverstone. She drove the Mercedes W12 (2021 season car) as part of testing previous cars under the TPC programme.
