England smash Jamaica 7-0 in an International friendly as they head into the Euros

England won 7-0 against Jamaica in their farewell game ahead of their title-defending Euros.

 

The goals are plentiful for England, with two from Ella Toone, the rest scored by Lucy Bronze, Alessia Russo, Georgia Stanway and Aggie Beever-Jones

 

This is a crucial win for England as they head into the' Group of Death' in the Euros. Winning this game will have given them a great deal of confidence, as they play France next Saturday evening in their first game of the Euros.



First half. 

 

Lauren Hemp's shot defeated Georgia Stanway, while Jess Carter's shot was deflected off the keeper's front-stretched leg in the 5th minute.



Hemp to Russo to close to the keeper 6th 

 

Lauren Hemp to Russo tried to get the keeper to Georgia Standway, who tried to get it on goal, but went wide in the 9th minute.

 

Ella Toone scored from outside the box, assisted by Georgia Stanway, in the top right corner. She celebrates by kissing and pointing to the sky in remembrance of her late father. 10th minute



Cross by Lauren Hemp, no one on the end of it in the 13th minute

 

Keira Walsh shot from distance to put it in the back of the goal, but skied it slightly.



In the 19th minute there was a goal for Jamaica from a corner fired low by Mimi Van Zaten, deceiving Englands defense striker Kyala Mckenna sweeps in a shot at the near post however Kiki Van Zanten was stood in front of Hannah Hampton in an offside position when Kayla McKenna took the shot so goal disallowed.



23rd minute Lauren Hemp's cross is cleared out from under the Jamaican crossbar.



In the 32nd minute, a cross in the box by Jess Carter to the box with Lucy Bronze headering it in at close range, the superstar going into her 7th England tournament.

 

A call for a penalty was made by the fans in the 36th minute on Lauren Hemp, who had a defender behind her push her down, but there was no reaction from the referee or interference by VAR.





In the 37th minute, Lucy Bronze showed her skills with a back heal to lauren Hemp who while she made her shot slipped  (The pitch is very patchy is places after a full Premier League season and probably has yet to be replaced for next season) as the ball realed it hit the side bar and bounced off.

 

Alessia Russo, in the 40th minute, has had many chances. This was a chance which bounced off the crossbar and back out into the penalty box.

 

Ella Toone scored another goal on the stroke of halftime, making it 3-0 before halftime in the 49th minute. She was pushed off the ball, but Lucy Bronze got it back, crossing it and deflected it in off the bar post.

 

Minutes later, Alessia Russo passed the ball instead of shooting it at goal to her bestie Ella Toone to score a possible hat-trick, but it was right at the keeper.






Second half.            

 

Jamaica earned an early corner, which was cleared by the English defence in the 50th minute. 

 

In the 56th minute, Beth Mead went down under a tough Jamaica tackle but was able to carry on, although Lauren James was warming up.




Goal for Georgia Stanway in the 59th minute after the keeper blocked multiple attempts, and frustration was growing for the home side. Stanway was able to find a gap between the defenders and the back of the net.

 

Cross into the box by Chloe Kelly in the 63rd minute. On the far side, Lucy Bronze slid towards it in hopes of putting it in the bottom corner, but was just behind the ball.

 

Lauren James' first chance in the 67th minute didn't come off correctly and sailed over the top of the bar. This was her first game in three months.

 

Alessia Russo finally got her goal after many attempts on target. Lauren James picked out Russo at the far corner, who headed it in at close range in the 71st minute. She made it 5-0, which is a larger score-line than Jamaica lost to the USA, which was 4-0 in June.

 

Stanway was strict to go to the bottom left corner, but it was just wide of the goal in the 74th minute.

 

A chance in the 80th minute from Beever-Jones, who hit a high ball with a leg up, unbalanced, and tried to get in by the keeper, but got something on the ball.

 

In the 85th minute Beever-Jones from a Niamh Charles assist, a Chelsea link up, Beever-Jones slid the ball into the goal quite literally at close range in the bottle left corner.
