London City Lionesses have announced the signing of French international forward Delphine Cascarino on a three-and-a-half-year contract, securing one of the most decorated players of her generation ahead of the second half of the season.
The 28-year-old arrives in London with vast experience at both club and international level. Cascarino spent the majority of her career with French giants OL Lyonnes, breaking into the senior side during the 2014–15 season and going on to enjoy a decade of sustained success. During her time at the club, she won nine Première Ligue titles and six UEFA Women’s Champions League trophies, scoring 31 goals in 204 appearances across all competitions.
Renowned for her pace, technical ability and creativity in wide attacking areas, Cascarino was a key part of Lyon teams that dominated domestically and consistently challenged for honours in Europe. Her performances on the continental stage helped cement her status as one of France’s leading attacking talents.
In the summer of 2024, Cascarino moved to the United States to join San Diego Wave in the National Women’s Soccer League. Across two seasons in the NWSL, she made 34 appearances and scored seven goals, gaining experience in one of the world’s most competitive women’s leagues and adding a different tactical dimension to her game.
At international level, Cascarino has been a regular presence for France since making her senior debut in January 2016. After progressing through the national youth teams, she has accumulated 86 caps and represented Les Bleues at major tournaments, including the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, UEFA Women’s Euro 2022, the 2024 Olympic Games and UEFA Women’s Euro 2025.
She was a standout performer during the group stage of Euro 2025, registering an assist in France’s win over eventual champions England before scoring twice and providing another assist in a 5–2 victory over the Netherlands.
Following the completion of her move, Cascarino said: “I’m feeling good, and I am really excited to start the second part of the season with London City. I’m really happy to be here.”
She added: “London City is the only independent women’s club in the WSL, which excites me.”
Explaining her motivation for the move, Cascarino said: “England for men and women is the country of football. It’s always been a goal of mine to play in this league.”
Her signing represents a significant addition for London City Lionesses, who bring in a player with a proven record of success at the highest level of European and international football.
