Manchester United Women Reshape Attack as Leah Galton Departs and Elisabeth Terland’s Future Remains Uncertain

Manchester United Women are entering a new phase of squad planning following confirmation that Leah Galton will leave the club and ongoing uncertainty surrounding Elisabeth Terland’s long-term future.

Galton departs after seven years as one of United’s foundational figures. She made 171 appearances and scored 44 goals, ranking as the club’s second-highest scorer of all time and leading WSL goalscorer.

She played a key role in United’s promotion to the WSL, their second-place league finish in 2022–23 and their first major trophy, the Women’s FA Cup, in 2024. Head coach Marc Skinner said she would “always be part of this club’s story.”

Terland remains under contract until 2027 after an option was triggered, but talks over a further extension have stalled. She rejected a contract offer earlier in the season.

The Norway international has scored 15 goals in 31 appearances this campaign and remains United’s primary attacking outlet. While the club would prefer to secure her long-term future, they are understood to be open to offers if valuation requirements are met.
