Group C: Denmark v Sweden (5pm, Geneva)
The battle of the Fiancés of Pernille Harder and Magdalena Eriksson.
The two Scandinavian nations met only a month ago in the Nations League when the Swedish side crushed the Red and White 6-1, and they won the previous meeting 2-1.
Denmark have a fully fit and available squad.
Denmark are currently ranked 12th in the World and finished as runners up to World champions and tournament favourite Spain in their qualifying group only losing their matches against the Spanish.
Their best result at the Euros was making it to the final in 2017 but losing out to the hosts the Netherlands 4-2.
Predicted XI- Ostergaard; Veje, Ballisager, Troelsgaard; Holmgaard, Snerle, Hasbo, Thomsen; Harder, Bruun, Kramer
Sweden have lost Rosa Kafaji who is unavailable for the tournament as she is dealing with an ACL injury. Fridolina Rolfo is expected to make the tournament after a recent injury with Matilda Vinberg on standby.
Eriksson will captain her side with notable players like vice-captain Lina Sembrant and Stina blackstenius who scored the winning goal for Arsenal in the Champions League final and scored a hattrick in the 6-1 victory against the Danes in the Nations League meeting
They qualified for the tournament with victories against Luxembourg and Sweden in the playoffs which is a major shock as in 2023 they were ranked number one in the world.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Falk; Lundkvist, Bjorn, Eriksson, Andersson; Angeldahl, Asllani, Zigotti Olme; Rytting Kaneryd, Blacketsenis, Hurtig
Group C: Germany vs Poland (8pm, St.Gallen)
Germany have won eight euros, six in a row but have not won a trophy since 2013, while this is Poland's debut at the Euros.
Both sides played off each other in the qualifying group with Germany through automatically while Poland sitting rock bottom with six defeats from six as they qualified through the play offs.
It is likely Germany will win comfortable in the Group C opener
Germany has no fresh injury, however defender Lena Oberfof is still unavailable for this tournament.
Another issue for Germany is some key players retiring including ex-captain Alexandra Popp who injured herself in the euro final 2022 warm up making her unavailable for the game.
Germany have won five of their six 2025 international.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Berger; Linder, Knaak, Minge, Gwinn; Nusken, Senss; Buhl, Dallmann, Brand; Schuller
Poland named their 23-player squad a few weeks ago, but Nina Patalon has had to make a change to the squad with Martyna Brodzik having to withdraw due to illness, and so Malgorzata Mesjasz has been called up.
Poland made history in their first ever Euros appearance and will approach this game the same way they did in their playoff win over Austria.
They will likely deploy a regular deep back line before hitting the opponents on the counter-attack.
A lot of their success will hinge on the performances of Tanja Pawollek, who stole the show in the middle of the park against Austria to secure their qualification.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Szemik; Zieniewicz, Wos, Dudek, Wiankowska; Achcinska, Pawollek, Kamczyk; Tomasiak, Padilla, Pajor
