As we head into another Major tournament for the women's side, the clubs behind the players have received some bonuses.
UEFA has increased the Women’s EURO 2025 Club benefits Programme from €4.5 million to €6 million. Clubs earn €657 per player per day, up from €500 in 2022.
The total amount is calculated according to the number of days a player is released for the final tournament, including the ten preparation days, the total number of days a player participated in the tournament, and one additional travel day.
The minimum payment per player a club will receive is €13,140 for a player whose national team is eliminated after the group stage.
The maximum amount will be €24,309 for a player from a team that was in Group A and reached the final.
If a player has been replaced due to injury or registers with a new club during the tournament, the clubs concerned will receive a pro rata payment.
For example, with 16 players called up for the Euros,Barcelona will receive at least €315,200 and up to €360,445 if Spain goes all the way. This could help with their financial problems, likely preventing them from making any money moves this summer transfer window.
This boost comes from €3 million in unused funds from the men’s competitions and reinforces UEFA’s commitment to supporting the clubs that develop and release players for major international tournaments.
This increase is from the club benefits programme, which was introduced for the UEFA Women's Euros in 2022 to acknowledge the vital contribution of clubs and their players to the tournament's success.
This 33% increase makes it women's football's highest-paid club benefit programme.
These payments are allocated to compensate European Clubs whose players are selected for national teams participating in the Women's 2025.
